Appruve at Africa Law Tech Festival 2020
We attended the inaugural edition of the Africa Law Tech Festival, hosted by the Lawyers Hub in Kenya with the support of Omidyar Network.
It was a 5-day event that brought together various leaders from across Africa in Law and Technology sectors.
The Festival created a space for conversations around policy issues in emerging technologies, the role of tech in promoting access to justice, rule of law and law reform in a rapidly changing world.
We participated in a Policy co-creation exercise on ‘Taxing the Digitalized Economy’- an activity designed to provide innovative policy alternatives on Law and technology in Africa. We also sat on a panel where we discussed the role Artificial intelligence plays in identity management.
Finally, we used this event to launch our entry into East Africa, as we spoke about our mission to connect Africans to opportunities globally by providing enabling people to prove their identities.
